Job Specification: Financial Director Position Overview The Financial Director (FD) is responsible for overseeing the company's financial strategy, operations, and performance while managing risk and ensuring sustainable growth. The role includes leadership of the finance team and oversight of IT systems to align technological initiatives with business objectives. The FD will play a key role in driving change management, ERP implementations, and process improvements across finance and IT.
Key Responsibilities Financial Strategy and LeadershipDevelop, lead and drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.Perform risk management by analyzing company liabilities, investments, and cash flow.Control and evaluate fundraising plans, capital structures, and investment strategies.Provide strategic financial insights to the executive team and Board of Directors.Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and other financial requirements.Financial OperationsOversee preparation of Annual Financial Statements and external audits.Management and implementation of BBBEEE initiatives on all elements including Skills, Procurement, Enterprise/Supplier development and Ownership.Manage cash flow, financial reporting, and internal controls to safeguard assets.Monitor financial performance using tracking tools, identify issues, and implement corrective measures.Continue ERP system implementation and optimization to improve financial operations and reporting.IT Oversight and TransformationLead and oversee the Head of IT to align IT strategy with financial goals.Oversee IT environment and operational risks.Ensure cybersecurity, system scalability, and data integrity across operations.Facilitate integration of ERP systems to improve automation, reporting, and operational efficiency.Leadership and Team ManagementLeverage leadership to create value for multiple operating departments.Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, including financial controllers and administrators.Drive performance management, training, and recruitment initiatives.Oversee HR-related finance functions such as payroll, benefits, and compliance.Foster collaboration between finance, IT, and other departments to align objectives.Change ManagementChampion financial transformation and ERP system change management initiatives.Develop and implement tools, workflows, and best practices to improve financial and IT operations.Key Qualifications and Experience ? ? Experience:
Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in senior financial leadership roles.Proven expertise in risk management, cash flow management, and strategic planning.Experience leading ERP system implementations and driving organizational change.Strong background in financial operations, reporting, and compliance within medium-sized entities.Industry experience in security or related fields is advantageous.? Technical Skills: Proficient in financial management software (SAGE Intacct), ERP systems, MS Office, and financial reporting tools.
