Minimum Required Qualification: NQF 7 (Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology or relevant field.South African Reward Association (SARA) Reward Certification.The Appointee should: Have a minimum 10 years experience in a related role, of which 5 years should have been at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.Have SARA relevant post qualification reward experience in a large multi-national organisation.Be a member of the South African Reward Association (SARA).Demonstrate strategic understanding of the total reward function and the impact it has on the organisation.Demonstrate excellent understanding of the legislative framework impacting on the labour governance of the organisation.Show the ability to perceive and quantify risks for mitigation.Be experienced in the design of reward, incentive and benefit programmes to attract and retain employees.Show the ability to drive results in the delivery of a total reward service.Demonstrate good project knowledge in the implementation of any reward related projects.Possess business writing skills in the delivery of Exco and Board submissions and annual reports.Demonstrate sound knowledge and in-depth understanding of payroll, incentives and other reward related systems and governance.Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and implementation of an appropriate reward strategy aligned with business strategy, operating conditions, culture, objectives and employee value proposition to drive the achievement of organisational objectives and achieve a fair balance between the needs of all stakeholders.Formulate a strategy and an implementation plan for the Total Reward functional areas in consultation with the Leadership Team.Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the Total Reward disciplines and ensure compliance and design for configuration suitable to every operating jurisdiction.Communicate a meaningful strategic context that guides and directs best practice, fostering an environment total reward understanding for retention purposes.Lead the identification, monitoring and management of Total Reward risks in partnership with the Executive team.Develop and maintain positive engagement with internal customers, building effective relationships and networks to support the achievement of the Total Reward strategies and plans.Provide support to human resources to strengthen problem-solving strategies and create business development initiatives for enhancing company-wide communication and the performance of all employees.Develop and lead the Group comprehensive strategy for Total Rewards using compelling and equitable compensation and benefits programs aimed at attracting and retaining worldclass talent in a competitive environment and across multi-disciplines.Provide strategic direction, planning, and requirements to execute the design, implementation, communication, and administration of the Groups compensation programs; including annual short- and long-term incentives and executive compensation.Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the rewards programs to ensure they are aligned with business and talent strategies and monitor market trends to make recommendations for changes, as appropriate.Design fit-for-purpose Total Reward Framework and well-designed Group wide Total Reward operating model that supports business objectives.
