Viticulturist (TopFruit)Closing Date : 2024-06-27Closed : NoDescription:TopFruit, a leading intellectual property and varietal management company in the deciduous fruit industry, is looking to appoint a self-motivated and dynamic Viticulturist to join their team in Simondium, Paarl (Western Cape).The ideal incumbent is highly analytical, with strong problem-solving skills, and has the ability to present and explain technical information to various stakeholders. They should approach challenges systematically, and have the ability to coordinate efforts across different projects.Duties will include: *Technical support to table grape growers *Technical support to packhouses and exporters with regards to postharvest handling *Build and maintain relationships with breeders, growers, and industry stakeholders *Oversee testing and evaluation of grape varieties in the Western Cape, and report on findings *Coordinate field days to showcase varieties *Manage quality standards for TopFruit table grape varieties *all other related tasks related to the role.Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:• Tertiary qualification in Viticulture (BSc or MSc Agric in Viticulture will be advantageous);• At least 5 years' experience in a similar technical Viticulture role;• Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, specifically Excel);• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport;• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.Ideal commencement date: As soon as possible.In addition to a challenging work environment, the company offers a highly competitive remuneration package.Please apply online at www.m3online.co.za before 09:00 on 27 June 2024.For general enquiries, contact our team at M3 Human Capital Management on 021 863 1444.Please note that only shortlisted candidates are contacted.
