VISUAL MERCHANDISING MANAGER: CONSUMER BEAUTY | CAPE TOWNOur client, a leading global FMCG brand, is looking for a Visual Merchandising Manager: Consumer Beauty to join their Commercial team.JOB PURPOSE:A critical role in supporting the business priority of building superior equity at the point of purchase. The role will focus on:Step-change in-store permanent visibilityDevelop strong joint business plans with our retailers that drive mutual, profitable growthEnable perfect execution with fit-to-win process, delivering the highest standard of execution across the portfolioEnsure the brand image in store is in-line with brand and company standardsYOUR DAY TO DAY:Drive execution and implementation of cosmetic permanent merchandising, both locally & globally produced, for all client consumer beauty brands.CAPEX: Manage budget for Permanent Merchandising counters and permanent cassettes updates per categoryPlanogramming: Work closely with Trade, Marketing, and Commercial teams to create the most efficient, impactful, and clean planograms that are to be updated according to seasonality of launches and KCPsBudget: Manage CAPEX and OPEX budget effectivelyIn-store Locations: Work closely with the Sales team to ensure best-in-class locations in the stores vis-à-vis visibility and competitor evidence. Support the sales team in conquering new and better shelf space via best-in-class design proposals to retailersTraining | Onboarding: Conduct regular training/onboarding when needed on in-store functions and updates in line with NPD for front line teamsTracking of Projects (ROI): Tracking of In-Store execution is critical and needs to be resourced via local tracking via sales teamBrand Equity: Liaise between the brand teams and global teams equity to ensure brand guidelines are adhered to in the market from PM unit design to visuals and artworkLead & empower suppliers: Lead suppliers in designing and delivering of permanent merchandising counters in-line with brand guidelines. Challenge suppliers on the best quotes for the production of Permanent units and updates focusing on ROICollaboration: Manage relations and approvals between key stakeholders within Sales, Trade Marketing, and Global Brand TeamQuality Control: Supervise production of suppliers and sign off of units prior to installationsMaintenance: Ensure that a regional robust process is maintained for the implementation of the Cosmetic Permanent Merchandising installations with an associated maintenance programProject Management Skills: Manage the design, planning, production, and implementation of Cosmetic counters in the regionAccountability: Follow through POs from creation until closure. Coordinate with retailers the installations of permanent counters based on regionally provided design specifications and timingsCPS management: Manage and educate suppliers on project delivery lead times. Challenge suppliers on tight lead time deliveryCompetitor Analysis: Share any monthly insights from trade visits / Trend report (e.g., Retail Summit)MINIMUM ROLE REQUIREMENTS:Relevant DegreeMinimum 5 years management experience in an equivalent role in the retail industryProven experience in owning and managing a CAPEX & OPEX budgetExperience in executing in the pharmacy channelExperience in consumer beauty categorySAP experience highly beneficialCategory Management with a track record in developing a productive assortment layout (understanding of category management principles and development of planograms)Project management (track record in managing tight deadlines and lead times)Stakeholder managementTECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:Analytical capability (data assessment)In-store manager should have trade/category management, In-Store/retail knowledgeUnderstanding commercial is a plusEye for detail and aestheticsCreative problem solvingTeam playerPM is a very dynamic role.
