We especially invite scholars working on the United States and the Americas, in any period, deploying transregional, international, comparative, and/or global perspectives and methods. We are particularly interested in scholars with a demonstrated record of teaching who can contribute to the department's thematic areas of focus in Africana Studies; gender, sexuality, and women's studies; and/or histories of science, technology, and medicine.WPI is passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. We are looking for candidates who can support our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.JOB DESCRIPTIONJob responsibilities will include:Teaching 6 courses and 2 capstone inquiry seminars in History and International and Global Studies.Qualifications:Ph.D. in History, American Studies, or African American Studies is preferred; terminal degree in another relevant fields considered.Candidates should have earned their PhD by August 15.A track record of successful classroom teaching at the university level.The ability to work creatively and collaboratively across disciplines with faculty, staff, and students of various experience levels.As part of your initial application, please submit:A cover letter that describes your interests, values, and practices as a scholar and teacher.Current CV including academic, teaching, and professional experience.The names and contact information of at least three references.We will ask for letters of reference, a scholarly writing sample, and teaching portfolio for short-listed candidates only.Application review will begin on March 15, 2024, and continue until filled.
