Vineyard Manager/ViticulturistClosing Date : 2024-10-21 Closed : Yes Description: Simonsig Wines, an iconic wine estate situated in Stellenbosch and known for producing wines of internationally recognised excellence, has a position available for an experienced Vineyard Manager/Viticulturist with excellent leadership skills to join their team.
The successful candidate will report to the Cellar Master and be responsible for (but not limited to):
All aspects of quality wine grape growingSoil management, pruning, establishment of new vineyards, pest and weed control, canopy management, irrigation, harvestingManagement and development of personnel to improve productivityRecord keeping and production reportsQuality management i.e. compliance with IPW, WIETA and Fairtrade accreditationsManagement of grape production budget and operating costs in collaboration with managementManagement of off-site vineyards under contract and communication with growers, to optimize qualityAll other functions and duties related to the positionEssential minimum qualifications, skills and experience: Relevant tertiary qualificationApproximately 3-5 years' experience in a similar management positionGood knowledge of farm equipment and mechanical skillsKnowledge of relevant quality control systemsExcellent communication skills (Afrikaans & English)Strong computer proficiency (MS Office, EzyWine)Please apply online at www.m3online.co.za before 09:00 on 21 October 2024.
