Guided by our purpose and our values, we enable both high performance and purposeful action as we aim to "re-imagine mining to improve people's lives", delivering the metals and minerals that make modern life possible.Job DescriptionCollect, analyse, and interpret vibration data to report on production equipment conditions and proactively forecast potential failures.Your duties will include:Safety and HealthConsistently apply Safety and Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for the safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.Function as a role model and support a workplace culture where safety and health for the site are paramount.Support an environment for team members to challenge and act on unsafe behaviours without repercussions.Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.Performance DeliveryVibration Monitoring:Maintain vibration sensors and monitoring equipment on machinery and equipment.Monitor the vibrations generated during regular operations to establish baseline measurements.Data Collection:Collect vibration data from various mechanical systems using specialised equipment such as accelerometers and vibration analysers.Record data regarding frequency, amplitude, and phase of vibrations.Data Analysis:Analyse the collected vibration data to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential problems.Determine vibration levels and assess whether they fall within acceptable limits.Fault Detection and Diagnostics:Identify and diagnose mechanical issues, such as unbalance, misalignment, wear, resonance, and bearing faults, based on vibration signatures.QualificationsQualificationsGrade 12 Certificate/ N3 TechnicalAdvanced National Vocational Certificate NCV5NATED N6 Certificate (Engineering field) NQF5Trade test certificate essential.Technical Knowledge:Demonstrated experience in data analysis in the context of mining operations.Proficiency in data visualisation tools like Power BI or similar platforms.Strong analytical skills and the ability to extract actionable insights from complex operational data.Familiarity with mining equipment and maintenance practices is highly advantageous.Solid understanding of data pre-processing, cleaning, and transformation techniques.Proficiency in SQL/PLC and data querying for data extraction and manipulation.Experience with programming languages such as Python or R is a plus.Excellent communication skills to effectively present data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced mining environment.Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to address complex data challenges related to mining assets.Laser Alignment principles.Basic and advanced hydraulic.How To ApplyTo apply for this role, please complete our online application form.
