Responsibilities: Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations, cost control, and operational efficiency. Coordinate with various departments to schedule and prioritize vehicle maintenance and repairs. Monitor fleet performance metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement including checking vehicle tracking reports, fuel consumption and identifying any discrepancies. Develop and implement strategies to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce operating costs Track and maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of fleet supplies and services. Ensure vehicle license renewals and management of traffic fines etc. Implement and maintain the Company's Vehicle Policy. Investigate any accidents and / or damage to vehicles and ensure that the necessary insurance claims are made and that damages are repaired timeously. Stay current on industry trends, technology, and regulations to continuously improve fleet management practices
Qualifications: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. A tertiary qualification would be an advantage. Must be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. A Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in commercial fleet management (not trucks). Mechanical knowledge and experience will also be an advantage. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and communication skills. Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
