This position is available in the Vehicle Logistics Department. The successful candidate will work closely with the Vehicle Logistics supervisors and managers on actions to meet shipment targets for Exports by sea and Africa road exports. Responsibilities include managing the vessel booking process in GVDS and in the Auto ship systems, ensuring successful management of vehicle distribution with different transport service providers to achieve maximum capacity for Exports and Domestic deliveries. The candidate will maintain information in the logistics database and identify opportunities for inventory reduction, leading waste elimination and cost-saving initiatives focusing on quality, innovation, and automation (TVM).
Minimum Requirements:
National Diploma/Degree/Honours Degree in Logistics/Business Management.
Minimum of 5 years of experience within the Automotive Industry Logistics environment.
Proven capability of advanced PC skills & presentation skills using Microsoft Office.
Intermediate Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate daily shipment planning with Ford quality, Manufacturing, Finance teams, and support teams.
Follow up with export customers to ensure vessel schedule files are received on time.
Effectively plan inland transport and secure capacity for rail and road movement to the port.
Coordinate with Ford exports analyst for joint inland logistics and port planning.
Respond to export customer queries regarding Auto ship plan output.
Ensure vehicles that are not physically ready are placed on hold in GLADS and GVDS.
Coordinate with Vehicles Logistics team and Transporters in case of capacity challenges.
Support weekly/daily meetings for operations, plant, and GLADS team.
Update vessel information in GVDS as per Auto ship plan report.
Resolve any system vs physical VIN statuses in all systems for export vehicles.
Process commercial and final invoices in Eurovac for exports customs clearance.
Review reports for sailed VIN numbers and ensure un-sailed VIN numbers are planned.
Prepare Monthly Sailed report to Finance.
Publish weekly, monthly, quarterly metrics reports to Ford Management.
Escalate issues that require management attention within Ford.
Identify repetitive issues and lead solutions to resolve them.
Responsible for TVM process improvement and continuous improvement idea capturing.
Support and complete MCRP testing for local and IMG modules.
Conduct weekly yard walk audits in Silverton and Weswood.
Meet ETA timings as per export customer requirements and prepare reports for delays.
Track and maintain KPI decks for vehicle distribution and yard management.
Support during stop shipments and launches.
Performance Measures / Success Criteria:
Deliver on inventory targets vs actuals.
Deliver TVM Targets.
Deliver waste elimination initiatives.
Ensure accurate lead time reporting.
Track reasons for delays in meeting ETAs for export vessels.
Systems integration – VMACS/GVDS/GLADS.
Identify modernization opportunities and implement them.
Develop and ensure desk procedures/job aids are updated and maintained.
