Qualifications / Requirements:
• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience at Engineer level within an automotive or engineering environment
Essential
• Excellent knowledge invehicle electrics and harness build process as well as harness routing in vehicle build process
• Analytical ability and creativity for problem-solving
• Must be computer literate (MS Office)
• Good communication skills, team player, high engagement and self-driven ability
Added Advantage
• Competency in CAD
• Good knowledge of the vehicle product development processes
• Experience with virtual analysis tools in a CAD environment
• Specialized knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and vehicle build knowledge
Key Performance Areas:
• Carry out the responsibility and accountability for the zone function and co-ordinate a cross -functional team from various work disciplines within the organization with the overall focus on improving quality through the introduction of critical vehicle fitment/adjustment processes, eliminating reworks and improvement of vehicle appearances within the production and supplier environment, also the establishment of controlled rework solutions in support of production
• Support of new model introductions during development phases with regards to learning points from previous model launches, key process definition development and build support during build phases
• Coordinating, motivating and leading a team of cross-functional engineers to analyse and resolve product and process deviations with regards to the electrical build of the harness of the vehicle
• Investigate build, audit and process related problems
• Lead root cause analysis, liaise with other departments, establishing and implementing corrective actions and ensuring sustainability of actions
• Prepare and present process, product and audit related issues with detailed analysis and corrective actions for findings to advise management regarding achievement of quality and production KPI's
• Participate in company vehicle buildability forums in order to define, document and improve key production processes for new and existing products relevant for the plant
• Definition of key processes and critical points for all production shops with focus to solve fitment issues and process improvement
• Develop and propose product or process changes for series production in order to improve processes throughout all shops
• Participate in the build of pre-series vehicles by actively contributing in build meetings, preparing problem/corrective action documentation, process improvements and training requirements
• Liaise with overseas counterparts in order to achieve all quality and production targets for the introduction of new models into production
