Vehicle Build Engineer (Cross-Functional Team - Electric)

The Vehicle Build Engineer will be responsible for the CFT Zone function, coordinating a cross-functional team to improve Quality and DRR by introducing critical vehicle fitment processes and enhancing vehicle appearances in Production and Supplier settings, while establishing controlled rework solutions for series Production.
Assistance in launching new models during development stages, incorporating lessons learned from previous launches, establishing critical processes, and providing support for pre-series builds.Potential Responsibilities in this PositionOrganizing, inspiring, and guiding a group of diverse engineers to examine and address product and process deviations related to the electrical construction of the vehicle's harness.Examining issues with constructing, evaluating, and handling processes.
Leading investigation into the main cause, collaborating with other departments, creating and executing solutions, and ensuring continued effectiveness of actions.Analyzing and addressing process, product, and Audit matters with in-depth evaluation and corrective measures to inform Management on meeting Quality and Production KPI targets.Taking part in vehicle Buildability Forums to identify, record, and enhance essential production procedures for both new and current products related to the facility.Identification of essential procedures and crucial stages in every manufacturing facility to address fit issues and enhance processesCreating and suggesting alterations to products or procedures for mass production to enhance operations across all departments.Taking part in the assembly of pre-production vehicles by actively participating in assembly meetings, creating documentation for problems and corrective actions, improving processes, and addressing training needs.Requirements:National Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Bachelors Degree in MechatronicsA minimum of 3 years relevant experience at Engineer level within an automotive or engineering environmentExcellent knowledge in Vehicle electrics and harness build process as well as harness routing in vehicle build processAnalytical ability and creativity for problem solvingMust be computer literate (MS Office)Good communication skills, team player, high engagement and self-driven abilityAdvantage:Competency in CADProficient in the German languageGood knowledge of the Volkswagen vehicle Product development processes (PEP)Experience with virtual analysis tools in a CAD environmentSpecialized knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and vehicle build knowledge
