Vegetable Production Manager

Our client is seeking a Vegetable Production Manager to join their team, based in East London.Minimum Requirements:-Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field preferredPractical knowledge gained through experience is equally valuedMinimum 5-10 years' of hands-on experience in vegetable productionProficiency in managing all aspects of crop production, including planting, irrigation, pest control and harvestingPlant Biology / Crop Experience - in depth understanding of growth requirements and best practicesEquipment / Machinery - optimisation with irrigation equipment, calibrations, flow rates, dose rates and problem solvingPlanning and Scheduling - ability to create schedules, manage crop tasks and optimise resource allocationPest and Disease Management - familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM) techniquesTeam Leadership / Team Player - experience in supervising farm workers, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient operationsQuality Control - commitment to maintaining high quality produceBudgeting and Cost Management - ability to manage expenses related to seed, fertilizers, labour and equipmentAdaptability - willingness to stay updated on industry trends and adopt new technologiesAnalytics / Research / Reporting - ability to understand numbers, trends and present findings in reports
