Reference Number: TC/09/24 The Incumbent will report to the Senior Trade Administrator Purpose of the role: To assist and support the Trade promotion unit to promote Cape Town and the Western Cape as a leading regional economy and facilitate economic growth through increased export activity.
The role is dedicated to supporting Western Cape businesses with exporting their goods and services to the rest of the world.
Requirements: Minimum of one (1) year's work experience in the sector or similar environmentMinimum tertiary qualification of a degree, three-year diploma, or relevant qualification (Trade, international relations, business management, etc.)Knowledge of the trade industry and related challenges in the Western Cape economyKnowledge of the international economy and business in the Western Cape is advantageousKnowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and relevant procurement legislative prescripts is advantageousValid Code B driver's licenseDuties and responsibilities: Administrative and back office daily support to the Trade unit with research, preparing presentations, and briefing documentsCoordinate and assist with travel bookings and logistics around inbound and outbound missionsCoordinate and assist with all procurement activities of the trade unitProvide support with logistics around a number of marketing opportunities for SMMEs, special projects, programmes, and missionsSupport the trade stakeholders with compliance in accordance with PFMA regulationData capturing into Wesgro's Customer Relation Management system and managing the systemFiling and assist with accurate evidence-based reportingStock control of marketing collateralAssist with event managementRequired Skills: Excellent oral, written, and communication skills as well as facilitation skillsAbility to work accurately and consistently under pressureProven ability to work independently and be self-motivatedGood interpersonal and social skillsProblem-solving skills and initiativeAbility to networkCreative and innovativeA team player and deadline drivenWilling to work long and flexible hours when necessaryPositive, outgoing personality – enthusiastic and optimistic.
