Summary: To research and analyze data to help inform product design through data-driven decisions ensuring technical aspects of data querying, exploration and manipulation are linked to business requirements. To facilitate engagement and collaboration across various disciplines in the business to ensure customer needs are properly understood and considered in the product departments.
FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: UX Research Craft Understand the strategy and priorities of product spaces, partner with Product and Business teams in order to drive the execution of a multitude of research projects Be a technically sound strategic thought partner, deeply understanding cultural nuances and representing the customer to influence product direction and tactics Ensure successful delivery of quality research programs and projects, anticipating research needs, evaluating and evolving as needed research and communication methods and organizational ways of working Build and manage functional partnerships, proactively elevating the value of research, building and influencing consensus, establishing clear expectations, communicating and addressing roadblocks and deeply integrating the voice of the user in the Product Development cycle Design and conduct mixed method studies including but not limited to end-to-end planning, executing, analyzing and reporting. Craft personas and other "information radiators" (e.g. journey maps) to communicate insights across the design and development teams. Champion and drive activation of research insights, including leading design sprints and engaging activation activities Manage large data sets by combining information across multiple sources to enable insights generation. Assist in bridging business requirements with technical aspects of data querying, exploration and manipulation to ensure business needs are being met. Manage the implementation of new UX research programs, projects and capabilities. UX Research Leadership Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with engineering, data science, people analytics, UX/design and product to deliver outstanding results. Multi-task effectively across different projects and platforms and adapt easily to the ever-changing priorities of the business. Adhere to team processes and standards to help establish best practices for research. Work closely with the product team to identify research objectives. Collaborate with product teams and educate them on UX best practices throughout all stages of an agile product development process and coach them on lightweight empathy building and research approaches when needed. Communicate research findings to diverse audiences through writing and presentations; represent user research in key product discussions. Stakeholder Engagement Engage key stakeholders in the development, execution and evaluation of appropriate business solutions. Maintain and build effective, professional relationships with key stakeholders. Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals. Engage and collaborate across development, design, and marketing teams to evaluate current and upcoming user research needs that help to improve product definition and drive business goals. Identify high-impact projects, triage requests, and negotiate scope, timing, and deliverables with key stakeholders. Risk, Governance and Financial Management Pro-actively keep up-to-date and ensure full compliance with global and local corporate governance and statutory requirements. Fulfil IT Security requirements as defined by Group Technology and Compliance. Ensure data privacy and security aligned to IT Security policies.
Knowledge Management Remain abreast with latest tools, technologies, industry trends an UX developments.
Requirements: Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience required for this position
Qualifications: Relevant degree (Preferably in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Applied Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Behavioral Sciences or related field.)
Experience: Proficiency with querying, joining and manipulating large data sets; ability to leverage tools such as SQL Server, Python, or R/R Studio. A strong working knowledge and experience with sampling techniques, psychometric principles, survey design, and associate research methodologies, and how to apply them in a fast-moving organization. +2 years data analytics experience 6+ years UX researcher experience
Competencies and Skills Strong analytical ability and attention to detail Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems with critical and logical thinking Ability to translate data and findings into recommendations and ensure activation of insights in a complex, matrixed organization Relationship building and influencing skills Sound business judgment as well as ability to think clearly, gather qualitative/quantitative research, problem-solve, scope research requirements and prioritization. Time management skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact at all levels across the organization Advanced Excel, Powerpoint, collaboration tools (Figma, Mural) high computer proficiency Proficiency with UX Research platforms & tools such as Usertesting.com, Qualtrics, Adobe/Lookback or other behavioral data platforms
Minimum Qualifications... Portfolio of work demonstrating breadth and depth in UX Research. This should also include approach and process. 8 years of experience in UX Research Proven stakeholder/partners management Must be able and willing to think and act strategically as well as tactically. Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills – including the ability to present design & research concepts clearly and persuasively to colleagues, stakeholders, and senior executives.
Preferred Qualifications Outlined below are the optional preferred qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no preferred qualifications. Bachelor's degree in HCI, Statistics, User Experience Research, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Stats, Business, referred Master's in human Factors, HCI Human-Computer Interaction or MBA a huge plus! Or Ph.D. in related fields. Experience in complex organization, retail preferred User Experience Researcher background is crucial to this role. Various additional educational qualifications: Data, Ethnographic, and 'Human Design Thinking' Research-driven mindset. Experience research methodology for data visualization in order to present to leaders. Statistical analysis
