Novus Print: Montague Gardens

Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a Utility Maintenance Manager with knowledge and experience within a FMCG printing environment, to provide innovative leadership for the technical team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Technical Manager.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
Manage technicians/artisans to implement approved solutions
Facilitate and coordinate the technical Toolbox meetings
Mentor Technicians and Artisans and assist with fault finding
Procure the critical parts and maintain minimum stock levels
Checking that correct spares and materials are available as and when needed
Producing an investigation report with proposals and alternative solutions
Promoting Plant safety regulations according to the Occupational Health Safety Act
Following up on specific plant non-conformance
Investigating incidents to establish non-compliance and conduct root cause analysis
Providing input and assisting with design specifications to improve plant efficiency
Perform administrative duties
Risk assessments and contractor management
Initiating of disciplinary hearings and management of staff absenteeism
Budget control of repairs and maintenance costs
Managing computer maintenance system (Shopware)

Educational Requirements
Diploma in Mechanical engineering or equivalent
Management qualification will be advantageous
Government Certificate of Competency (advantageous)
Experience Requirements
At least 10 years in a technical/mechanical engineering environment of which at least 5 years in a senior or supervisory level
At least 3 years' experience in the print/flexible packaging industry environment
Working knowledge of OHS ACT
Project management experience
In depth knowledge of mechanical and engineering principles
Sound knowledge of printing principles and equipment in the print environment
