The Utility Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of utility systems to support pharmaceutical production processes.Oversees the operation and maintenance of buildings and their services. Their duties include budgeting, sourcing contractors and suppliers and performing strategic planning.Qualifications:Minimum 5 years previous experience in Facilities ManagementDegree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or similar Computer literacy: MS Office (proficient in Excel, Word & Power Point)Experience in Site Facilities and utilities, Service Contract Management & Security ManagementProven experience in budgeting and cost managementKnowledge of Health and Safety ActGovernment certificate of competency or working towards GCCDutiesDirectly oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of utility systems, including but not limited to boilers, chillers, steam generation systems, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, notifier systems, purified water systems, and wastewater treatment systemsResponsible for planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipmentManages a team of individual contributors and multi craft Maintenance Technicians and is accountable for conducting effective performance managementDevelops tactical and operational plans for the Maintenance team and supports organizational objectives and business goals by optimizing the productivity and reliability of manufacturing facilities and equipmentAllocates resources to meet objectives and goals and monitors project plans to ensure on-time production schedulesEnsures compliance of engineering repair projects with health and safety regulationsResponsible for managing operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within established timelines and budgetsSupports and/or leads root cause analysis and implementation of robust solutions to downtime issues related to utilities and facilityMaintains a consistent workflow and productivity of the team, and proactively identifies and resolves operational issues and concernsCoaches less experienced staff, recommending plans for continual improvement, and consistently evaluates individual and team performance against operational goalsCreates and maintains a training program to ensure the team is up to date with the Utilities technology and industry trendsDevelops operating procedures for uSalary: R MonthlyJob Reference #: 1146610
