CORE PURPOSE OF JOBThis position is responsible for product, market and retail operations and development of the University Shop as a self-sustaining institutional brand development unit.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREASMarket Research and Stakeholder Engagement as related University branded products environment.Product Development of branded items and unique institutional offerings.Efficient management of procurement processes and stock.Development and management of efficient retail outlets (Main shop and sites) and platforms.Marketing and communication management of the Shop and its products and services.Efficient human resources, financial and general management of the University Shop, outlets and platforms.CORE COMPETENCIES Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.Ability to multi-task, delegate, manage time, and work under pressure.Attention to detail, accuracy, and customer service excellence.Ability to analyse, interpret and report financial information.Project management and organisational skills.Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.Good public relations and marketing skills.Strong computer skills (MS products: Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Databases, web design).Good understanding of Point of Sale (POS) systems.Good understanding of digital communication platforms. REQUIREMENTS A three year post matric / tertiary qualification (M+3).A 3-5 years retail management experience involving all the relevant functional areas.A valid drivers licence.Reliable own transport essential.
