Unit Manager: Trauma

Duties & Responsibilities:Manage staff according to the Basic Conditions of Employment and the Disciplinary Code, staff-planning and Recruitment and Selection of staffManage the day to day problem solving, including stock controlConduct regular inspectionsMaintain infection control strategies and procedures of the hospitalMaintain health and safety principlesMaintain and apply the required disciplineEvaluation, intervention and resolution of patient complaints and queriesEvaluating and monitoring nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomesCommunicating effectively with patients regarding their carePromoting the health and well-being of patients and employeesEnsuring the principles of infection prevention and all international standard precautions are adhered toImplementing group quality initiativesLiaising with public liability regarding all incidents of potential risk to the businessRequirements:A relevant nursing qualification (B Cur Degree/ or relevant management qualification)Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered NursePost Basic Diploma or equivalent qualification in TraumaMinimum 3-5 years' experience as a Unit Manager/shift leader in TraumaCompulsory BLS certificationAdvanced Computer LiteracyKnowledge and experience in Kronos will be beneficialFlexible in working hours/shifts
