CLIENT in the MINING INDUSTRYrequires the services of an UNIT MANAGER ENGINEERING at their plant in the FREE STATE as soon as possible.CV SHOULD BE IN WORD FORMAT TOGETHER WITH ID, QUALIFICATIONS, DRIVER'S LICENSE AND LATEST PAYSLIP.Duties & ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Appointment in accordance with Regulation 2.13.1 or 2.13.3.1 for the Safe Maintenance and Operation of Machinery in an Engineering Production environment on a deep level mine (e.g., Winders, Vertical shafts, pumping, refrigeration, conveyer belts, rail bound equipment, rolling stock, logistical management ore and material, box fronts, services planning repairs and installation, amongst others).Oversee all engineering work for effective functioning supporting deep level mining operations.Ensuring legal compliance for the operation.Ensure that preventative actions are implemented to ensure cost-effective maintenance programs.Identify, implement and manage policies, practices, systems and technologies.Budget planning and financial control.Resource capacity planning and development.Quality control.Ensure maintenance and construction to standards.Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety, and risk management standards and best practices.Driving strategic engineering programmes and projects in line with the Group's Policy.Desired Experience & QualificationMinimum Required Qualification:Degree or National Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical.The Appointee should:Have a Degree or National Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical.Hold a Government Certificate of Competency – Mine Health & Safety Act 29 of 1996.Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a relevant field.Be a self-starter, motivated, results-oriented, and pay attention to detail.Possess working knowledge of the BCEA / LRA.Have knowledge and understanding of the MHSA and OHSA Acts.Apply problem-solving strategies and research techniques to interpret and analyse data.Demonstrate integrity and above-average interpersonal abilities.Exhibit good oral and written communication skills in English.Be prepared to work extended hours on an ad hoc basis.Successfully undergo security screening.Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at a relevant Occupational Health Centre.Advantageous Qualifications:Registered as an Engineer to practice with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), Association of Mine Resident Engineers (AMRE), or relevant professional body.Package & RemunerationSALARY HIGHLY NEGOTIABLE.HR Services, Recruitment & Selection.
