Key Responsibilities:Manage and maintain existing Trust relationships in your portfolio.Apply your expert knowledge of the Trust Property Control Act.Fully understand the terms of the Trust Deed.Apply your expert knowledge of the provisions in the Income Tax Act that relate to Trusts.Apply your intermediate knowledge of Estate planning.Risk management (minimising financial/legal risk/exposure of Clients, the company and ColleaguesApply your intermediate knowledge of financial statements.Ensure superior administration of trusts by:- Assessing the allocation of trust assets- Ensuring all payments from trust are properly authorized- Ensuring the correct processes are followed- Ensuring the implementation of the investment decisions that are madeManage existing contracts and agreements relevant to trusts in your portfolio.Ensure timeous payments to beneficiaries/intermediaries.Ensure that the appropriate needs analysis of trust beneficiaries is undertaken.Management of the trust capital so as to address the needs so identified.Ensure effective and relevant communication with beneficiaries.Ensure sufficient trustee meetings are held in terms of the trust deed.Attend and chair trustee meetings and ensure that minutes, resolutions and other pertinent documents are distributed within 14 working days of the trustee meeting.Ensure monthly meeting and billing targets are met.Ensure that accounting debtors do not reach 60 days by ongoing management of trust debtors book in conjunction with the Financial Director and financial department.Continuing Professional Development and contribution of website articles, presentations and the company's academic libraryAny other task delegated by your supervisor and/or manager.Deciding on and Initiating Action.Presenting and Communicating Information.Adhering to Principles and ValuesDelivering Results and Meeting Client Expectations.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Relevant graduate degree/Diploma with a minimum of 5 years experience as an independent Trust Officer with at least 100 trust clientsExperience in dealing with estate planning both local and offshore will be an advantage.Experience of exchange control matters will be an advantage.Sound knowledge of the ability to interpret and apply the Trust Property Control Act.Thorough knowledge of the Income Tax Act, tax administration Act and Estate Duty ActExperience in the administration of trusts will be an advantage.Strong administrative skills.Ability to work in a Team.Empathy and good interpersonal, networking and relationship building skills.Ability to converse and communicate efficiently in both English and Afrikaans.Strong strategic thinking ability.Ability to adapt to a complex environment.Tenaciousness.Proactive.Sound judgment Competencies required.The following will be advantageous:Post grad qualification in law or accounting, orPost grad qualification in tax, orPost grad qualification in financial planning
