We are present on four continents and are headquartered in Oslo, Norway.Main purpose of positionCurrently we are looking for a Trust Accountant in Cape Town to be part of our global team working together towards our vision - Improving our future. As our Accountant, you will execute the accounting, administration and reporting process for Scatec SA trusts and Holding companies. The trusts are involved with social economic development activities with specific focus on Community and district trusts, Land rehabilitation trusts, BEE trusts and Holding companies. You will manage the accounting, audit, and tax of the group's semi dormant bidding entities and maintain and improve standard accounting processes and internal reporting.Main responsibilitiesFinancial Accounting: Processing cashbooks and preparing bank reconciliations for entitiesPrepare bank reconciliations for several group companiesPrepare monthly supplier reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare monthly journal entriesReport to stakeholders and process dividendsPrepare audit files for entitiesProject entities for REIPPP bid: Review financial statements, prepare audit files and manage tax compliancePayments: Coordinate weekly payment runs (domestic and international)Review invoices for compliance, e.g., VAT, company details, purchase orderPrepare weekly payment batches for entities and resolve supplier and invoice queriesLoad payments to banking system and store proof of payments to share with relevant partiesBank administration: Maintain users and bank profiles, update signatories, quarterly reporting for internal audit, and KYC administration for Banking and other institutional requirementsQualifications and competenciesDiploma/Degree in Finance or AccountingCompleted Articles AdvantageousCaseWare and Bank Administration experienceSolid Microsoft Excel experienceUnderstanding of finance function and sub-processesMore than 3 years bookkeeping/accounting experiencePreparation of basic trial balance is a mustBeing flexible and experienced with ERP systems would be advantageousFluent in English, spoken and writtenPersonal characteristicsIt is part of every employee's terms of reference to contribute to Scatec's vision: Improving our Future and adhere to our company values which are:Predictable: demonstrate clear communication and listening skills, shares information in an open and honest wayDriving results: demonstrate determination, proactiveness, can prioritize and work independentlyChangemaker: demonstrate entrepreneurship, can challenge, fast learner, take initiatives and adjustWorking together: demonstrate teamwork, shares responsibilities, can compromise, has a can-do attitudeFor the particular role we also expectComplete STATSA reportsSupport with compliance - changing directors, CIPC updates, Annual Returns, etc.General support to the Finance team and assisting with ad-hoc queriesWe offerScatec is an exciting, innovative, and ambitious company operating in a growing industry.
