Truck Driver - Code 14 (Local/ Cross Border)

This position requires a dynamic individual with strong experience in the logistics and road freight industry.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record and a deep understanding of road freight logistics.Key Performance OutputsThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following:• Loading and unloading of trucks/vehicles/trailers.• Plot best routes for the journey to ensure destination/s is/are reached timeously.• Keeping vehicle logs and obtaining customer signature for the delivery or collecting of goods/cargo.• Ensure that goods loaded and delivered match documentation at all times, i.e.
waybill, transport delivery note, invoice.• Conduct daily inspection on the vehicle/s and to ensure the road worthiness, serviceability and operational readiness.• Ensure vehicles are fuelled as per scheduled intervals.• Update logbooks as and when required.• Liaison and engage with customers in a respectful manner to ensure effective and efficient operations.• Resolve all complaints from customers timeously.Technical Skills and Experience• Matric/Grade 12• Minimum of 2 to 5 years code 14 driving experience• Basic understanding of logistics industryCompetenciesThe ideal candidates should be detailed orientated, have good planning skills and must be able to handle pressure.
Incumbents must have a high level of heavy vehicle driving skill, attention to detail and must be customer focussed.
The successful incumbents must possess exceptional professional conduct.
