We serve both private group and individual leisure customers, working exclusively with travel advisors to book everything from air and rail to hotels and sightseeing tours.Join us and in return, you will be rewarded with:Competitive salary + Bonus21 days annual leave plus SA public holidaysMedical Aid and Life insurancePension FundTravel benefits and discountsThe RoleWe offer hybrid working, 3 days a week in our Century City Cape Town office, the working schedule is Monday to Friday between the hours 08.00am and 7.00pm for an 8 hour day of work plus 1-hour unpaid lunch break. You will work a Saturday and Sunday: 1 weekend approx. every 4 week rotation. This position is required to participate in the emergency duty rotation, which includes being on call during local festivities and/or night shift, 2-3 times per year.What you will be doingThe Operations Specialist manages post-booking reservations, confirms services with suppliers, issues travel documents, and assists passengers with travel issues during their time in Europe. Key responsibilities include:Provide excellent customer service, support, and information to all internal teams and customersAccurately quote, confirm, and issue rail tickets and reservations using different booking systemsAccurately process requests and confirmations for hotels, transfers, sightseeing and carsAssist supervisors and managers with customer service emails, research, follow-up, and callsMake independent decisions with customers and coworkers while maintaining our customer service standards and financial profitabilityMaintain ongoing communication with supervisor or manager about procedures and problems and offer suggestions for resolutionsTimely response to all coworkers and customers; following through with a resolutionProcess email correspondence and ship travel documentsQuality control of customer itinerary and final documentation to clientsWhat we are looking forPrior experience in a travel consultant or travel operations role – working with packages and ground components such as hotels and excursion suppliersAbility to work well independently and as part of a teamGood time management and ability to multi-taskOutstanding communication skills - courteous and professional telephone mannerPassionate about providing excellent customer experienceAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet timelinesProficient in MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook (Amadeus and Rail Europe ERA systems are a plus)Ability to communicate effectively and productively with multiple nationalitiesAbility to use creative skills to suggest new service ideasOur dedication to equity, diversity & inclusionWe believe people are happier and perform best when they are able to be their true self, and that diverse teams deliver better results.Together we will cultivate a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment, where everyone can flourish.
