Job detailsHere's how the job details align with your profile.Job typeFull-timePermanentLocationFull job descriptionROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsuring all drivers and helpers know which routes they are allocated toLog vehicle KMEnsure tracking of Diesel usageDriver's time and attendance to be monitoredEnsure all vehicles have valid licenses and are roadworthyEnsure all drivers' licenses, PDP, IDs are verified and certified.Assist in the management of the repair and maintenance budgetEnsure all service for vehicles are up to dateEnsure all drivers and helpers are trained on loading and off-loading proceduresEnsure all invoices and POD are signed and received from drivers and helpersEnsure tracking of vehicles and report any deviation from routesLiaise closely with all departments, especially sales and production.Ensure vehicles are clean and there are strict controls in terms of food safety complianceEnsure display of disk registrations and R638 certificates in the vehicleEnsure proper record-keeping for each vehicle's repair and maintenance, KM, diesel usageAssist Manager with any delegated duties in relation to the management of the fleetClosely liaise with Debtors and Creditors departments for sales POD queries and creditor invoices respectively.Plan and organize transport routes effectivelyRecommend new ideas, new economical routes, and new clients that are on route that we don't currently service.Ensure all drivers are neatly dressed and presentableManage the storage of crates within the company and capture all movements in cratesLiaise with the drivers to ensure that they collect crates from the customers and properly account for themReport to the technical department of any returns or quality issues of productsCheck invoices from drivers and record any missing invoicesReport to Debtors department any shortages or missing invoicesKeep accurate registers for vehicle registrations and roadworthyKeep accurate fuel usage tracking per vehicleAssist with insurance claimsEnsure CAPEX approval on transportAssist in supporting and development of the transport departmentKeep weekly roster schedule for driversEnsure daily stock count of Chep cratesInitiate order sheer, receive crates and issue to productionEnsure daily stock count of crates on hand.Ensure the crates balance daily across QSR, Supermarket, and Coffee shopsEnsure the correct calculation of Chep and brown palletsControl stock ordered and issue of palletsEnsure all postings and transfers are done on the Chep system both internally and to the different clients.Ensure clients accept the postings within a 24-hour windowEnsure Chep crates are randomly inspected upon receipt; any broken crates are raised with Chep immediatelyEnsure broken or dirty crates are returned to Chep and the Lupo account is creditedEnsure there is no misuse of crates both internally and externallyFully understand the Chep system.Reconcile weekly/monthly number of crates ordered, issued to production, and delivered to Vector.Identify increased demand quantity with reasonsEnsure all PODs are received from drivers and scanned to DebtorsRaise any concerns or issues immediately regarding postings to Chep accountReport any discrepancies to Chep accountRequest monthly report from Chep and ensure it balances with Lupo reconciliations.Be responsible for the accurate filing and retrieval of documentation in accordance with the departmental systems and procedures.Dealing swiftly with any crate/invoice queries.Assist with shortages from the transport departmentPlease note this position requires attention to detail and daily stock counts and reconciliationThere may be duties performed outside of this scope from time to time based on management discretion.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Relevant degree in Transport, Fleet Management, or Logistics5+ years experience in logistics, fleet management, or transport is essentialFully computer literate (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Strong communication skills and ability to deal with employees at all levels
