National Trade Certificate (Electrician).
Grade 12 with English (language of instruction).
Accredited Training Certificate. In possession of at least N4 (Electrical Engineering – Heavy Current with Science and Mathematics as subjects).
Three years' relevant experience.
Key attributes and competencies: Coordinates training by encouraging team and individual efforts to ensure proper development of staff through training.
Encourage staff development to support effective staff motivation.
Support career pathing/succession training to encourage commitment/productivity.
Report-writing and good communication skills.
Monitoring and controlling of expenditure.
Must be physically fit and healthy – must be able to perform manual operations and duties on foot.
Good sight, speech, and hearing ability (may not be colour blind – interpreting colour wiring codes).
Must be able to cope with mental stress associated with meeting deadlines, frequent interruptions in the job and interacting with varied personalities.
As part of the selection process, the recommended candidate will be required to undergo a medical examination at the Municipality's Occupational Health and Safety Division.
Job purpose: Responsible for the planning, organising and execution of the training-related functions (electrical discipline) as identified/accepted by the Business Unit and conveyed by the Training Manager.
As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
