Training Consultant Job DescriptionThe Training Consultant will assess the current skill set within the business and identify areas for improvement and further training. They will take charge of the development and implementation of learning interventions to improve productivity and elevate employee confidence levels. Training interventions should be aimed at enhancing employee skill levels and overall performance. The Training Consultant will also be responsible for updating and evaluating training content to align with the business goals.Experience:Minimum 2-3 years' experience within an HR / Training and Development role/environment.Qualification:Matric CertificateHR Qualification (advantageous)SDF / Training Certifications (advantageous)Health and Safety Training Capabilities / Accreditation (advantageous)Competencies (skills and attributes):Ability to work under pressureAbility to use own initiative and make decisionsCreative and Forward ThinkingExcellent communication Skills on all levelsTeam PlayerValid Driver's License + own vehicle (Code 8 unendorsed – must be willing to travel to stores nationally)Accuracy and good attention to detailWillingness to learnExcellent people skillsOrganized and DrivenProblem-solving abilityMarket Research SkillsAbility to Present as an Ambassador of the BusinessKey Responsibilities:Evaluate existing training and development programs within the businessEnsure training material is relevant and aligns with current market trendsRevise, modify, and update training materialsCollaborate with internal departments and HODs to develop training materialsCreate course materials and teaching aids that support content deliveryConduct training sessions across the businessConduct effective training in person and via electronic meansCoordinate training interventions including logistics and planningProvide day-to-day guidance and leadership to employeesDeploy feedback tools to assess training effectivenessTrack training outcomes to ensure alignment with business objectivesIdentify obstacles to learning and facilitate training interventionsRespond to trainee questions and adjust course content as neededDevelop evaluation and feedback channelsPerform ad hoc duties within the HR departmentBrand Ambassador Responsibilities:Enhance the company's external brand and image through building relationships with key stakeholders in the training and development sectors.Drive word-of-mouth employer brand awareness.Reporting Responsibilities:Compile regular reports on training interventions and needs.Report on training interventions relevant to the retail industry.Determine metrics to track the effectiveness of the training function.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:(You must be able to answer "YES" to all requirements listed below)Matric Certificate.Valid Driver's Licence – Code 8 unendorsed (must have) – must be able to travelComputer Literate: Full Microsoft Office package2-3 years experience in an HR / Training environment/roleUndertakings:Criminal / Credit CheckQualification verificationSalary - Negotiable (depending on experience and qualifications)
