Training Consultant Job DescriptionThe Training Consultant will assess the current skill set within the business and identify areas for improvement and further training. This role involves the development and implementation of learning interventions to improve productivity and elevate employee confidence levels. The training interventions should aim at enhancing employee skill levels and overall performance within the business. The consultant will also be responsible for updating and evaluating training content to align with the goals of the business.Experience:Minimum 2-3 years' experience within an HR / Training and Development role/environment.Qualification:Matric CertificateHR Qualification (advantageous)SDF / Training Certifications (advantageous)Health and Safety Training Capabilities / Accreditation (advantageous)Competencies (skills and attributes):Ability to work under pressureAbility to use own initiative and make decisionsCreative and Forward ThinkingExcellent communication Skills on all levelsTeam PlayerValid Driver's License + own vehicle (Code 8 unendorsed – must be willing to travel to stores nationally)Accuracy and good attention to detailWillingness to learnExcellent people skills and ability to interact with persons on all levelsOrganized and DrivenProblem-solving abilityMarket Research SkillsAbility to Present as an Ambassador of the BusinessKey Responsibilities:Evaluate existing training and development programs within the businessEnsure training material is relevant and in line with the needs of the business and current market trendsRevise, modify and update training materials within the businessCollaborate with internal departments and HODs to develop training materials that achieve defined learning outcomes and meet the needs within the businessCreate course materials and teaching aids that support content delivery and skills assessmentsConduct training sessions across the business with relevant content to various levels of employeesConduct effective training in person and via electronic meansCo-ordinate training interventions within the business including logistics and planningProvide day-to-day guidance and leadership to employees within the organizationDeploy feedback tools to assess the effectiveness of the training curriculum and contentTrack training outcomes and ensure alignment with business objectivesIdentify individual and organizational obstacles to learning and facilitating training interventionsRespond to trainee questions and adjust course content to align with needs of learners / training audienceDevelop evaluation and feedback channelsAd Hoc duties assigned within an HR department environmentBrand Ambassador:Enhance the company's external brand and image through building relationships and partnering with key stakeholders in the training and development sectors to create and promote an attractive employer brand across the territories in which we operate and to ensure interventions meet the business needs and fit the culture of the business.Drive word-of-mouth employer brand awarenessReporting:Compile regular weekly, monthly and ad hoc project reports on training interventions / needs / requirements / roll-outsReport on training interventions that will benefit the business and/or are relevant within the retail industryDetermine metrics to track and monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the training function within the businessMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:(You must be able to answer "YES" to all requirements listed below)Matric Certificate.Valid Driver's Licence – Code 8 unendorsed (must have) – must be able to travelComputer Literate: Full Microsoft Office package2-3 years experience in an HR / Training environment/roleUndertakings:Criminal / Credit CheckQualification verificationSalary: Negotiable (depending on experience and qualifications)
