Trainee/Phlebotomist Full-time, Fixed term – 12 Months Location: Queenstown

Our Patient Services Department is responsible for the collection of blood samples and handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, urine, tissue, etc., from patients within the community and the hospital. These samples are then processed and tested in our state-of-the-art medical laboratory.
About the role | Mo te turanga: This is a full-time, fixed-term role that covers maternity leave for 12 months. You will work in our collection centres based in Queenstown and Frankton.The key tasks include blood collection, handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, and tissue, and preparing specimens for transportation.Provide professional customer service and serve as a link between health professionals, their patients, and the laboratory.The ideal candidate will hold a QMLT in Phlebotomy or similar. However, for the right candidate, we will provide a full on-the-job training program in Phlebotomy while supporting you to become a Qualified Phlebotomy Practitioner with the Medical Sciences Council of NZ.
