This opportunity offers significant training & development, growth, and mentorship opportunities.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport Accountants/FMs in day-to-day processingOversight function to junior accounts assistantsAssisting with Accounts Payable/Accounts ReceivableNominal Journal processingAssisting with bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliationsSimple Cashflow forecastingAssisting Financial Managers with management accountsEmail correspondence with the client dealing with straightforward requests and requesting information from the clientFamiliarity with different software technologies, e.g., QuickBooks or Xero (experience with cloud-based software is a plus)Background & ExperienceDegree educated and having completed articles/learnership in a busy practice environment.Skills & Experience – EssentialPost-graduate work experience in a practice environment supporting a range of bookkeeping and financial accounting activities as part of a learnershipExperience using accounting software/packages, e.g., QuickBooks/XeroDetail-oriented to ensure accuracy in data input and processingGood numerical abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively support Senior Accountants/FMs and interact with clients conciselyIntegrity: You will work with a company's financial data and manage sensitive records about the organization's financial information and apply best practices.Team-orientedEnthusiasticAnalytical skills to identify trends in data and detect discrepancies or inaccuracies in recordsProactivity to apply knowledge, use initiative, and make suggestions to clientsSkills & Experience – Nice to HaveAccrued and Deferred income maintenanceExperience overseeing junior accounts assistantsExperience with cloud-based accounting softwareInter-account reconciliationsUnderstanding of Management accounting will be useful as you will be assisting FMs with theseLocation & HoursCape Town, South Africa; UK hours: 08.00-17.00 (09.00-18.00 DLS; 10.00-19.00)
