Trails Guide
3-5 years previous guiding experience in a 5-star establishment (Essential)
Legal aspects of being a trails guide
NQF 4 Field Guide Qualification
First Aid level 1
Driver's License and PDP
DEAT / NDT registered
Astronomy knowledge
4X4 experience
Passionate about nature, animals, conservation and the environment
Hosting experience
Stock/ Equipment control
Vehicle Maintenance
Tracker management
Guest Services Supervisor
Experience in 5-star establishments (preferred).
Relevant qualification in Hospitality or Tourism
Valid driver's license.
Hosting experience (e.g., maître d', waiter, barman, events coordination).
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Wine knowledge is advantageous.
Passionate about people and skilled in engaging conversation.
Sociable, confident, and skilled in guest hosting and interaction.
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to anticipate guest needs.
Well-groomed, with high personal hygiene standards.
Realistic expectations of bush life.
Duties
Trails Guide
Provide an entertaining and educational safari experience for guests while meeting and exceeding their expectations.
Deliver an interpretive wildlife experience which covers a broad range of interests and includes a holistic appreciation of the environment
Host guests and ensure that all their needs and requests are met and exceeded
Guide guests on nature walks, ensuring that all guests are offered a walking opportunity
Ensure that all safety precautions are taken for guests on game drives and walks
Maintain regular communication with the Lodge Managers informing of any changes regarding guest activities and addressing any concerns proactively and constructively
Drive respectfully and carefully, maintain focus on ecological sensitivity, adhere to speed limits, and report any issues with vehicles immediately
Maintain all equipment pertaining to the guiding team
Strictly adhere to all regulations stipulated in the guiding SOPs for the region
Contribute to any reports which may be the responsibility of the field team
Keep abreast of current conservation issues
Continuously build field knowledge and contribute to the development of the team
Good conversational command of the English language
An exuberant, outgoing, friendly personality and must love the bush
A sincere and comfortable approach to guest interaction
An ability to read guests and manage their expectations
Confident and comfortable in a diverse, multi-cultural environment
Conversant and well-informed in global current affairs

Guest Services Supervisor
Act as the primary host, ensuring an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure.
Maintain high hosting standards, including overseeing service.
Ensure a constant presence in guest areas.
Serve drinks at the bar and during meals.
Organize and host occasional bush functions.
Perform pre-arrival room checks to ensure standards are met.
Liaise with lodges and departments to coordinate guest movements and requests.
Collaborate with the team to plan duties and provide mutual support.
Support other lodge operations when not directly engaged with guests.
Uphold hygiene and cleanliness standards in compliance with statutory requirements.
