Traffic Sign Installer Specialist

Summary Statement Incumbents in this class serve as lead workers for roadway signing projects.

Oversees crews installing signs or pavement markings (tape or paint).
Prepares sites for sign installation.
Determines proper layouts for intersection markings.
Operates hand and power tools such as air hammers, pipe installers and pullers, saws, etc.
Operates motor vehicles, tape machines, hand rollers and air compressors.
Submits daily reports to account for materials, man-hours and equipment used.
Maintains inventories of supplies.
Provides training for less experienced installers.
Job Requirements Job Requirements for Traffic Sign Installer SpecialistApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Six months experience in operating a variety of hand and power tools used in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting or HVAC.
Knowledge of interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings.
Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving.
