Traffic Controller PositionPhakisa Holdings is currently seeking a Traffic Controller in the Sasolburg area.Road Traffic Controllers manually direct road traffic and pedestrian flows on, near, or adjacent to roads during road closures or part road closures due to construction, maintenance, or roadside works; public events; or emergency responses using signs and devices to ensure the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDirect the flow of vehicles to help motorists avoid road work.Protect drivers, pedestrians, and labourers by using flags to signal potential hazards.Use barricades, flags, traffic cones, signs, and hand signals to reroute cars and enforce applicable safety regulations and speed limits.Stand in a work zone on a road or highway and manage a steady flow of cars and trucks, sometimes during inclement weather.Maintain physical stamina and the ability to focus for an extended period.Set up, manage, and remove temporary traffic control schemes/signs.Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones, construction workers, and the general public.Handle a Stop-Slow sign, or manage other similar traffic control signs and devices, to direct traffic.Communicate with other road traffic personnel, construction workers, and emergency response teams via radio to provide and receive updates on traffic conditions.Complete site checks and monitor traffic behaviour and/or flow to ensure safety is maintained at all times.Take instructions from crew leaders, foremen, managers, inspectors, auditors, or officials.Desired Experience & QualificationGrade 12Traffic Control Certificate and experience will be appreciated.2-4 years' experience.Package & RemunerationMarket RelatedDuration: ShutdownConsulting
