The role is part of the Portfolio Management team and reports into the Portfolio Manager. As a Trading Analyst you will play a key role in designing and managing a resilient energy trading portfolio while helping customers meet their renewable energy goals through NOA's innovative products. You will leverage your technical, analytical, and problem-solving expertise to analyse and manage NOA's portfolio at the energy supply and demand, commercial and risk management layers.Key responsibilities include:Analysing and designing a resilient energy portfolio considering target customer demand and market pricing for renewable energy, as well as available energy supply and the future cost of energy procurement from different technologies.Modelling and evaluating pricing and related commercial frameworks while maintaining our official product pricing used for sales proposals.Forecasting and scenario modelling of key aspects of NOA Trading's business, including learning rates for generation technologies, variability of renewable energy generation, market prices, foreign exchange and lending rates, portfolio cashflows and risk metrics – to understand risks, performance and the impacts of key variables or events.Statistical analytics and stochastic modelling to understand and report on the risks and dynamics of the trading business.Portfolio energy planning and scheduling to maintain short and long-term supply and demand balance.Evaluating monthly energy allocations and billing reconciliations to customers in accordance with contractual obligations, portfolio standards and policies.Actively maintaining our portfolio database, tracking systems, process documentation and knowledge base to help the business scale.Auditing our energy trading system's configuration data and outputs.Designing, producing, and maintaining reports and dashboards to aid decision making and track key metrics to ensure alignment with our portfolio standards for risk management and compliance.Reviewing customer solution designs, proposals and contracts for accuracy and compliance with portfolio standards and policies.Participating in ongoing proceedings related to tariffs and energy market development to inform our product and portfolio evolution and trading strategies as the market evolves.Cross-functional collaboration with various teams to help accelerate the business, including engaging with Sales and sourcing teams to maintain our portfolio and pipeline data and track market prices.Assisting Sales with evaluating tailored solutions and pricing for customers.Determining the ideal mix of technologies (Wind, Solar, BESS) and tariffs that will enable NOA to offer highly attractive energy solutions.Supporting the customer engagement team with problem solving customer supply or contractual issues.Supporting various analytical and reporting workstreams in aid of new product development, solution design, pricing strategies and participation in South Africa's evolving liberalised energy markets.Required qualifications, skills, and experienceMinimum of undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Science, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics, Finance, or other quantitative field.At least 2 years working in a role involving extensive analysis and modelling.Domain experience in renewable energy, trading markets, banking, insurance, investment management, financial risk management or related fields will be advantageous.Advanced Excel skills in financial and systems modelling required. Programming skills or experience with statistical, analysis or Business Intelligence (BI) software tools will be highly advantageous.Highly analytical with strong numerical problem-solving skills.Good aptitude for technical and complex business concepts.Accurate, thorough, and attentive to details.Ability to distil and present analysis results in a simplified way for informed decision-making.Experience with business reporting and dashboard design.Process driven.Ability to set goals, plan work, prioritise and self-organise with the flexibility to thrive in a dynamic, fast growing business environment.To Apply:Please submit your resume and cover letter to ******.
