Trade Marketing Director | Classic & 3rd Party MarketsJob Purpose: The Trade Marketing Director for the Classic and 3rd Party Markets will play a pivotal role in driving our business growth by developing and executing comprehensive trade marketing strategies tailored to the African market. This role is responsible for leading a high-performing team, conducting market analysis, optimizing budgets, and implementing effective promotional campaigns to maximize product visibility, sales, and brand presence across various channels.
Key Responsibilities:Strategy Development: Support the Managing Director in defining and driving a trade marketing strategy, leveraging the portfolio based on market sizes & opportunity tailored to the African market.Market Planning & Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities and challenges within the African Classic & 3rd Party markets.Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior.Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of trade marketing strategies and campaigns.Make data-driven recommendations for improvements.Manage and optimize the trade marketing budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources for maximum impact.Conceptualization, Production and Implementation: Connect the marketing central toolkits and calibrate them based on the market/brand stage and needs.Promotion, Campaigns & Merchandising: Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and appeal at the point of sale.Plan and execute promotional campaigns and trade promotions to drive sales and brand awareness.Liaise with central procurement to ensure compliance with ways of working for POS conceptualization and production.Internal & External Stakeholder Management: Build and lead a high-performing trade marketing team, providing guidance, coaching, and support.Work in close collaboration with the markets, agencies as well as cross-functional hubs based in South Africa – specifically Marketing & Procurement – to ensure consistency with respective Brand Co's global guidelines and alignment with the Pernod Ricard Ways of Working and business objectives.Key Competencies and Experience:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. MBA preferred.8-10 years of experience in trade marketing, with a focus on the African market.Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.Excellent leadership and team management abilities.Proficiency in market research and data analysis tools.Effective communication and presentation skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Entrepreneurial Spirit.
