Trade Accountant

Our client, a Global Mining Business, is looking for a Trade Accountant with a keen interest in commodities trading and derivatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the month-end trade accounting close per profit centre, reviewing trial balances for IFRS technical compliance, and preparing detailed monthly IFRS P/L and working capital reporting.What you'll do:Execute the month-end trade accounting close per profit centre based on IFRS.Review the department's trial balance for IFRS technical compliance.Prepare detailed monthly IFRS P/L and working capital reporting.Reconcile the middle office and trade accounting month and P/L's.Support regional offices with technical accounting challenges during period close.In collaboration with the Middle Office, conclude on and document the IFRS accounting treatment for new structured deals in advance of execution.Automate manual journal entries to ensure straight through processing to the general ledger.Requirements:Chartered Accounting qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA).At least 2 years' post articles experience in a similar role.Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel.Keen interest in trading, derivatives, business process automation, internal control, efficiency, and improvement.About the job:Contract Type: FULL_TIMESpecialism: Accountancy & FinanceWorkplace Type: On-siteLocation: SandtonSalary: NegotiableJob Reference: LQ4J4H-ED154262Date posted: 02 August 2024Consultant: Chad HunterCome join our global team of creative thinkers, problem solvers and game changers.
