PLEASE NOTE: The position is based in the Ballito areaOverall Purpose Of The JobThe successful candidate will ensure that the building plans submitted by residents meet the estate's required standards and regulations. Degree / Diploma in Town Planning5 years experienceDuties and Responsibilities:Receives, examines, and comments on plans for new buildings, alterations, or extensions utilizing the DRC checklist process;Works closely with residents, architects, engineers, local authorities, planners, surveyors, and other building professionals to ensure that the building projects meet the required Estate standards;Oversees the building programme and ensures the building programme is completed within the stipulated timelines and provides residents with supportive guidance;Documents regular inspections of building work at various stages of completion. Assists with inspections and carries out an audit of buildings that deviate from the plan as per the checklist;Assists with ad hoc site inspections, writes up reports, and keeps records. Provides feedback on deviations from the plan;Issuing of Penalties. Provides feedback on Penalty Appeals. Liaises with accounts to ensure the internal audit process relating to penalties is followed. Complies with the buying process of HOA;New Building Products are assessed, and recommendations are made to the DRC;Issues approval to commence with building work (site handover) and completion certificates;Keeps up to date with relevant regulations and legislation;Assist the association with the submission of its own plans to the Council as required;Weekly update reports to Line Manager;Works closely with Maintenance on matters on building sites;Responsible for compiling the departmental budget in conjunction with the Finance Department and managing costs within the budget;Chairperson of the Design Review Committee Meeting. Minimum Requirements:Degree or Diploma in Town PlanningValid Drivers Licence
