Thermal Delivery Engineer Manager – Biomass – South AfricaHave experience in Biomass and Thermal projects in Africa? Excited by the prospect of managing the entire technical delivery and construction components of several projects? Our client is looking for a Thermal Delivery Engineer Manager to facilitate their portfolio of decarbonisation projects across Africa. This role would see you involved at every stage of the project lifecycle, from design to pre-construction, to construction, to post-commissioning phase. You would be responsible for managing the technical delivery of projects, ensuring that all PPA and requirements are adhered to at every stage.
Extensive experience with stakeholder engagement and negotiations with vendors, a detailed understanding of project proposals and other crucial documentation, and a keen eye for detail are must-haves for this role.

Education RequirementsHonours degree in mechanical or thermodynamic engineering from a reputable universityExperience Requirements7-10 years of experience as a design engineer for thermal power plantsProven track record of previous design experience for thermal energy projects in emerging markets for solid-fired power plantsResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Business Development Teams to deliver complex decarbonisation solutionsContinuously update our client's standard technical contract documentation with lessons learnedReview tender proposals and technical specificationsIdentify and engage key vendors with the Business Development Team for each projectPrepare scopes of work and manage third-party consultantsGuide construction partners through company technical specifications and provide technical training as neededReview detailed engineering drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with company and client requirementsManage technical project delivery with the Project Manager, including vendor and contractor designsAssist the operational team in managing contractor/vendor technical liabilities post-commissioningAssess plant performance to ensure compliance with PPA and contractor/vendor obligationsManage O&M technical obligations of construction partners and third-party contractorsSkillsEmbedded understanding of the technical and operational aspects of the thermal energy market in AfricaEmbedded knowledge of heat and power projectsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsHighly motivated independent worker
