Certified LMI with ECSA (Specific Scope required: Forklifts & Telehandlers & Aerial Platforms & Lifting Tackle required.To be responsible for the inspection and testing of lifting machinery at prescribed intervals.To be responsible for the inspection and load testing of lifting equipment in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Min 3-5++ years experience in lifting equipment inspections and techniquesKnowledge of work of height machinery, lifting machinery & equipmentIndustry specific knowledge i.e., mining, construction, light & heavy industrial.Knowledge of Forklifts & Telehandlers & Aerial Platforms & Lifting Tackle equipment regarding operations, functions, technical functions, parts, and tools including a comprehensive understanding of hydraulics, engine mechanics, electrical, electronics and technical schematicsThe LMI reports to the SHEQ Manager.OHS Act and relevant SANS standardsCommunicate compliance and non-compliance of lifting machinery to stakeholdersCompile and maintain inspection schedulesExplain and apply engineering skills in inspecting lifting machinesComply with relevant legislation in the workplace.Adherence to ECSA Code OF Practice for Lifting Machinery Inspectors.Maintain/active LMI registration with ECSAInspect lifting machinery and equipment in accordance with regulations and required standardsPerform thorough inspection/load testing of equipment in prescribed mannerPrepare accurate field inspection report documents in accordance with company report templatesMaintain effective customer relations through service quality and timelinessResponsible for the safe keeping and maintenance of assigned vehicle & equipment EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Grade 12Certified LMI with ECSA (Specific Scope required: Forklifts & Telehandlers & Aerial Platforms & Lifting Tackle required.Valid Drivers LicenseMin 3-5 years++ experience in lifting equipment inspections and techniquesComputer literate: MS OfficePosition based in Johannesburg, local residency will be required.
