Job Description Key Responsibilities: Process payroll for employees accurately and on timeExecute complex payroll processes and provide payroll consultation servicesEnsure adherence to service level agreements and quality standardsPerform payroll reconciliations and manage exceptions in a timely mannerImplement payroll systems to align with business or legislative specificationsConduct comprehensive payroll audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and manage potential riskStay abreast of legislative changes and industry trends to inform best practicesProvide ongoing support and troubleshooting for payroll-related issuesCoach junior team members and contribute to a culture of learning and developmentMaintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll data and employee informationPerform other payroll and administrative tasks as neededQualifications and Experience: HR/Payroll/related Diploma is advantageous5 years of functional experience in end-to-end Payroll processingPassion for customer service and user experienceStrong working knowledge of payroll and HR systems and practices (preferably Oracle)Strong working knowledge of compensation, benefits, ER-related policies, and PAYE tax legislationStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational and time-management skillsUnderstanding of the retail business context is an advantageSkills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsGood MS Office (Excel) skillsReview and reporting capabilitiesChange management skillsBusiness case contributionHuman resources systems and tools proficiencyPresentation creation skillsSpreadsheet expertiseBehaviours: Applies market and business insights to drive organizational objectivesEffectively works with others to achieve shared goalsCreates an environment that fosters a culture of creativity and drives successDevelops plans and prioritizes initiatives that align with organizational goalsUnderstands and navigates dynamics created by processes, systems, and peopleAssesses and improves the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of various work processesQuickly adapts and acquires new knowledge, skills, and competencies in a rapidly changing environmentInterprets and simplifies complex and contradictory information when resolving organizational problemsTakes accountability and ensures others are held accountable for agreed-upon performance targetsSets ambitious goals and takes focused action to achieve desired outcomes and deliver measurable resultsPreference will be given, but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
