Job Description Job Title: Territory Manager Location : East London, South Africa Employer : TotalEnergies Marketing South Africa (Pty) Ltd Domain : Sales Contract Type : Regular Position Experience : Minimum 3 years Context & Environment The Territory Manager optimizes the performance of a defined number of service stations managed by independent dealers.
This role requires balancing strong dealer relationships with company profitability, managing internal support functions, and ensuring compliance with company policies in a competitive marketing environment with tight margins.
Key complexities include managing dealer contracts, supporting the Young Dealer program, and influencing network development while ensuring profitability and compliance with standards.
Key Activities Operational Management Manage all commercial aspects of contracts with dealers.
Implement new or transferred dealer operations effectively.
Ensure compliance with contract terms, especially maintenance agreements.
Conduct site visits (70% of work time at service stations) and maintain compliance records.
Portfolio Development Conduct competitive analysis and sector intelligence.
Work with investment teams to retain or enhance the service station portfolio.
Motivate and oversee the implementation of quick-service restaurants (QSRs) or other non-fuel activities.
Human Resource Management Recruit, coach, and mentor dealers, particularly within the Young Dealer (YD) program.
Provide financial guidance using detailed TEMPO analyses.
Ensure all station staff participate in compulsory training.
HSSE Management Enforce compliance with all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies and guidelines.
Manage safety standards, wet stock flows, and ensure HACCP compliance at food-handling sites.
Investigate, manage, and resolve wet-stock losses.
Requirements Candidate Profile Qualifications Business Degree with at least 3 years of experience in a petrochemical, production, or business environment.
Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of TSA network and business models.
Knowledge of TSA's ambitions, values, policies, and procedures.
People management and communication skills.
Fluent in English (working language).
