Our client, a food delivery platform, is looking for a natural sales personality that knows where the best eats are around town to fill our exciting Territory Account Manager role to be based in either Durban or Pietermaritzburg. We are looking for a candidate that is passionate about food and enjoys negotiating to build the best partnerships.Position: Territory Account ManagerLocation: Durban or PietermaritzburgRole Summary:The Territory Account Manager embodies strategy by driving the growth of specific cities, areas, and partners, both on the top-line (orders and clients growth) and bottom line (average basket), with a focus on the partner's dimension & experience of the marketplace. This role is an opportunity to help grow our client's online food ordering and delivery platform with a strong sense of ownership. This role calls for a combination of an operational approach, analysis of performance, and exceptional relationship management.Primary Goal:The primary focus will be bringing on new small-and-medium sized merchants (not necessarily only restaurants) that fit our client's partnership criteria, and you'll use your skills in emailing, cold-calling, and driving internal processes to set up our partnerships for success.Minimum Qualification Criteria:Minimum 3 years of experience in an Account Management or Business Development roleBachelor's Degree in a Commercial/Technical field - (Sales and Marketing)Advanced Excel proficiency and an interest in dealing with numbers and analysisGood communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to persuasively communicate recommendations and effectively champion customer needsAbility to take initiatives and easily adapt to constantly-changing work environmentsDesire to work with restaurants/merchants & building a strategic partnership, being proactive, creating positive and lasting relationships to bring them added new value and helping them to reach their potential on our client's platformProject Management: good organization, prioritization & time management skillsProblem solving skills: when you see a problem, you work hard and think out of the box until you fix itBe proactive and build positive and lasting relationships with our client's partnersHighly autonomous - able to work with minimal oversightRoles and Responsibilities:Responsible for driving business performanceIdentify key merchants to acquire to keep enriching the selection already available on the platform, and coordinate with the dedicated sales team to ensure deals are closedCreate long-term relationships with key accounts, ultimately enhancing their financials, marketing efforts, engagement, and satisfactionDrive on-the-ground knowledge and context about the city & partner operations to the wider team across SAAct as an ambassador of our client's company mission, brand, and productCommunicate the value of our client to merchants and customersLead and coordinate end-to-end sales motion for Enterprise prospects including qualification, education, pricing/quoting, and contract negotiation to close dealsBuild strategic relationships to gain positioning with decision-makers while driving growth of new businessAcquire extensive knowledge of the merchants, area, and cities to identify further options to grow & develop new business pillars e.g. Convenience, GroceryBuild tools and processes, utilizing analytical ability combined with operational rigor to drive forward critical metricsPartner with internal teams to solve problems and ensure that feedback received is used in improving products and operations
