The role of the Project Engineer is to plan, design, develop and introduce the provision, modification and maintenance of material handling facilities, transport, packaging, processes and systems for the optimal material flow from source to point of use to support Production, P&A and Localisation and Export projects in achieving their scheduled targets.Duties:Plan and prepare detailed logistics material flow concepts for production and warehouse environments.Create layouts, drawings, and job specifications for specialized logistics facilities.Design and procure logistics facilities like stillages, pallets, dunnage, trolleys, racking, storage facilities, and packaging for new projects.Define detailed project plans for coordination and monitoring.Prepare Enquiry Requests and evaluate quotations from suppliers.Negotiate with suppliers and justify capital expenditure through appropriation requests.Issue purchase requisitions and arrange for project or facility acceptance through demonstrations or trials.Prepare budget prices for corporate investment programs, cost studies, localization, and export projects.Develop and introduce packaging specifications.Draft and update logistics material handling contract specifications.Qualifications:Degree or National Diploma in fields of either Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics or PurchasingExperience:3 years experience with logistics processes within manufacturing environment.At least 18 months experience in Project ManagementEssential:Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.Self-starter who is able to operate on his/her own requiring minimum supervision and able to operate under pressure.Good planning, organizing and decision-making abilities in order to meet tight deadlines.Able communicator with good written and verbal skills.Proficiency with producing, understanding and interpreting 3D CAD drawings.Full computer literacy in suite of Microsoft packages, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint and Word.
