NOV Africa is seeking a dynamic, problem-solving, and figure-oriented individual to join our finance team as a Temp Africa General Ledger Accountant. This is a centralized role responsible for managing specific accounting functions across our operations in Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, leases, and inventory.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any reconciling items.
Apply accounting principles (IFRS, US GAAP) and ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.
Assist with tax and financial audits as needed.
Provide financial analysis and support to operational teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
3-5 years of general accounting experience in a commercial environment.
Knowledge of IFRS, and familiarity with US GAAP and SOX reporting is advantageous.
Strong understanding of accounting theory and principles.
Highly detail-oriented and organized, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience with ERP systems.
Fluency in English is required, and French language skills are an advantage.
