A Telehandler, Operating License Code (C46), is responsible for transporting materials from a storage space to a designated workplace. This applies to materials that are stored in a site compound and need to be moved to a loading bay or construction site. This movement of materials should be completed in accordance with site security requirements and in a safe and responsible manner.
Telehandler duties and Responsibilities
A telehandler operator - Operating License Code (C46 works with a type of machinery called telehandlers, also known as telescopic handlers, teleporters or boom lifts. Telescopic handlers are a type of heavy machinery used in both construction and farming. The telehandler operator's role is critical to a site that needs to move heavy loads, particularly in areas which are inaccessible to forklift trucks.
Duties and responsibilities:
Operating the machine - Operating License Code (C46),
Assessing loads and deciding whether they are safe to lift
Understanding the effects of loads, sizes and weights on the telehandler's stability
Understanding how the machine works and addressing any maintenance needs
Understanding the basic construction of pallets
