Job Description As a Technology Lead for the Software Engineering Chapter, you will be responsible for defining and managing the internal product roadmap that supports the efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of the engineering team. This role is key to ensuring that the internal tools, frameworks, and processes that enable the software engineering team are continuously evolving to meet technical and business demands.
You will collaborate closely with software, platform and quality engineers, technical leads, chapter leads, and stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvements in SDLC, development workflows, and infrastructure. Your mission will be to deliver internal solutions that enhance the productivity and technical capabilities of the engineering organization.
KEY RESULT AREAS: Internal Road-map Ownership: Own and manage the internal product road map focused on enabling and improving development processes, tooling, and infrastructure for the software engineering team. Backlog Management: Prioritize the internal backlog based on technical needs, development efficiency, and stakeholder feedback, ensuring alignment with engineering goals. Internal Tools Development: Collaborate with engineers to define and implement tools that streamline the software development life-cycle (SDLC), CI/CD pipelines, and code quality assurance. Process Improvement: Identify areas where engineering workflows can be optimized, including automating repetitive tasks, improving integration points, and reducing technical debt. Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the engineering team, Platform, and other internal squads and chapters to ensure all internal development efforts are aligned with company-wide technical strategies. Technical Guidance: Work closely with engineers to understand technical challenges, constraints, and architectural decisions, helping to guide the team toward innovative and sustainable solutions. Sprint and Release Planning: Ensure that internal projects, tools, and process improvements are properly prioritized in sprints and releases, balancing immediate needs with long-term goals. Metrics and Data Analysis: Use data to track engineering performance, identify bottlenecks, and measure the impact of internal initiatives. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain transparent communication with internal stakeholders regarding the progress, priorities, and benefits of the internal road map initiatives. Risk Management: Proactively identify technical risks and bottlenecks that could impede the software engineering team's productivity and scalability, proposing solutions to mitigate them. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest trends in software engineering, development tooling, and infrastructure to keep the internal road map cutting-edge. ROLE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner or Software Engineering Manager, with a focus on internal systems, engineering tools, infrastructure, SDLC delivery and improvements. Experience using Cloud native and SaaS solutions. Experience working with developer tools such as IDEs, Version and Artefact Control, Feature Flagging, Deployment and Release Pipelines, Automated Testing tools. Leadership Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple internal projects that align with the company's engineering objectives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in engaging technical stakeholders. A track record of driving initiatives that improve engineering team productivity and effectiveness. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on addressing technical debt and improving technical efficiency using data to drive actionable insights. Experience in identifying pain points within engineering teams and translating them into actionable solutions.
