Technical Support Assistant/Admin - Environmental ServicesLocation: DurbanSalary: ZAR 200000 - 300000Ref number: Sunderland 2025 AGY 01Please do not apply for this role unless your CV meets the following general requirements:You must be UK based and have the right to work in the UK.For office based and hybrid roles, your commute to the place of work must be less than 1 hour.This is a temporary role, initially 5-6 months.
Please do not apply if you are seeking a permanent position.Skills & Experience:Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel.Knowledge of CRM systems.Familiarity with KPIs, researching and presenting business information, financial administration, and monitoring service standards.Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, ideally within a public sector organisation.Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g.
G Suite).What's involved with this role:As a Technical Support Assistant, you will play an integral role in supporting the daily operations of Environmental Services.
You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks.
Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently will be essential to succeed in this role.
You will be required to maintain a high level of accuracy while meeting tight deadlines and have the proven ability to work collaboratively in a high-volume environment.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong organisational skills, the ability to multi-task, and provide a high level of customer care.Key Responsibilities:Provide a technical administrative support service whilst delivering an effective first-class professional service to customers.Act as the main point of contact within Environmental Services for customers to make enquiries, appointments, and other arrangements connected to service delivery.Work in partnership with other Departments and Directorates of the Council and external organisations.Assist with developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external partners.Administer and action all requests for services generated via automated CRM systems, email, telephone, or verbally.Support the use of maintenance, scheduling, and asset systems, including GIS mapping systems.Provide excellent customer service when dealing with customers and processing complaints.Create SAP works/purchase orders and undertake procurement of materials and contractors.Process requests for payment, checking invoices for accuracy and resolving queries promptly.Monitor and update all electronic systems including servicing and contracts records.Maintain electronic systems to ensure all documents are accounted for and easily accessible.Inform senior managers immediately of any issues that may disrupt service delivery.Promote continuous improvement to raise standards and inform good practice.Carry out additional duties as required by the service appropriate to the post.The above duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive and may vary without changing the character of the job or level of responsibility.
