Main Purpose of the Job
Responsible for managing and expanding relationships with key accounts within the mining sector. This role involves delivering high-quality customer service, overseeing the installation and repair of safety equipment, managing staff efficiently, and growing the business by cross-selling to existing customers and generating new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience in auditing, inspecting, and maintaining Booyco engineering specifications and standards on client installations, testing and verifying new hardware, drafting and reviewing software specifications, and preparing supporting technical documentation. Additionally, this role includes performing and recording customer technology demonstrations.
Education, experience and competencies
Matric and bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, and/or Electrical Trade (Red seal)
5 years' experience in a technical role within the mining sector, 3 years' experience in managing technical teams and projects.
Own Transport and valid driver's license – willing to travel and work overtime

Responsibilities:
Technical Management:
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems and equipment used
Conduct site and system surveys prior to installation and quoting.
Ensure current systems are effectively repaired and upgraded on-site.
Continuously seek better placement of equipment to improve range and coverage.
Ensure wiring and installation comply electrically and mechanically with the mine procedures.
Inspect Certificates of Compliance (COCs) issued by technicians to ensure quality and identify areas for improvement.
Conduct new product testing as required by client scope of work.
Review and approve technical documentation.
Assist Product Specialists in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving product-related issues.
Document product test results, technical issues, and recommendations for improvement.
Conduct monthly site visits with a Product Specialist to inspect installations and identify improvement areas.

Supervision and Coordination:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the site team, including technicians, engineers, and subcontractors.
Ensure proper installation, testing, and maintenance of equipment to meet specifications.
Liaise with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary materials and equipment.
Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
Ensure Product Specialists receive training to stay updated on the latest technologies and product changes.

Negotiate Compliance and Safety:
Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment and systems to address any issues or hazards.
Maintain and update safety records and reports.
Assist in coordinating safety training and meetings.
Participate in incident investigations related to potential product failures and oversee Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Operational Support:
Coordinate with the Operations Manager to develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Provide training and support to site personnel on the proper use and maintenance of electronic systems.
Organize and monitor the status of technicians' medicals, inductions, and certifications to ensure they are up-to-date.
Order and manage the budget for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and tools for technicians.
Track, collect, and submit technicians' timesheets, attendance records, and leave forms to Head Office.
Manage company pool cars by checking logbooks and booking services as needed.
Compile accurate Installation Data Packs for all new and current installations.
Regularly review and implement Installation, Maintenance, and COC manuals, ensuring compliance through audits.

Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service to clients, vendors, and visitors.
Handle inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers through professional conduct and regular communication.
Liaise with the Account Manager to follow up on customer invoicing, delivery dates, and payment collection details.
Support clients with technical issues on-site.

Reporting and Documentation:
Compile reports for audits as requested by mines and complete necessary administration (service reports, timesheets, and COCs).
Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, equipment logs, and maintenance records.
Oversee and review Product Specialist audits, drafting action trackers for regular review with the Area Manager
