Mining Company with HO in Melrose Arch is seeking to employ a technical Specialist to join their ever growing teamProcessContract ManagementManage coal purchase and supply contracts to ensure compliance with technical specificationsContribute to establishment of technical scope of work during contract inception based on buyer or end-user requirementsQuality ManagementDevelop Comprehensive Quality Management Plans (CQMP) for procurement and coal supply contractsAudit performance against CQMP and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)Regularly engage laboratories for quality testing and validation, and include recommendations for quality improvementConduct quality audits and site visits to ensure process compliance and identify improvement opportunitiesEnsure work performed in plants adhere to quality and safety standards for Nasonti Coal (Resources)Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate corrective actions response for deviationsMaintain a database of quality metrics for all sourced and beneficiated coal productsEnsure adherence to the quality assurance budgetCoach staff on quality requirements and best practicesProcess Improvement and New ProjectsUtilise metallurgical expertise for product improvements and processing method developmentsDevelop quality-related scopes of work for new projectsSupport sites with new source testing and procedure establishmentProvide guidance, awareness, training and solutions to ensure quality metallurgical outputsThrough Standard Operating Procedures, ensure all metallurgical projects are technically correct with regards to design, quality, operability and optimal functionalityFinance Monitor costs or expenses to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce wasteExplore and highlight opportunities for cost reduction - make recommendations on the most cost-effective way to perform work and to streamline processesAnalyse information to identify trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies for decision-making purposes; generate required reportsUse systems optimally for data management and give input for system improvement and streamliningEnsure financial documentation is maintained to support accurate record keeping and future requirements as per legislationStakeholder Relationships Work collaboratively with colleagues, build sound relationships and ensure good communicationsEnsure knowledge and advice is technically accurate and provide stakeholders with relevant information to keep them informedEnsure timeous resolution of queries and complaints and take ownership of issues People Ensure conflict resolution and respond to any complaints or concernsSupport skills development and transfer initiativesParticipate in creating toolkits and training materials that will support building a steady skills pipelineIdentify and participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own developmentEnsure knowledge transfer amongst peersDisplay and encourage an appreciation of teamwork and inclusivity Reporting Report to production managers, addressing non-conformances and providing feedback on customer complaintsDevelop and deliver technical reports and performance reports on quality of products sold.Develop proposals and justifications for transitioning to specific product supplies Minimum skills required Minimum QualificationPreferred Qualification EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a process metallurgist for a mining company Valid drivers license Distribution experience and knowledge of logistics principles
