Technical Sales Rep / Specialist (Aviation) – Germiston.
The Technical Sales Representative/Specialist is responsible to coordinate all sales activities within the company. This involves promoting and expanding our Principals' brands and activities, while managing daily sales and contract functions related to SA's operations.
The objective is to surpass sales expectations by establishing strong customer partnerships and ensuring the long-term success of the company.
Key responsibilities include cultivating new business opportunities, fostering lasting relationships with customers, and engaging with key stakeholders and business executives.
The role also involves facilitating communication between principals, customers, and internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our product offerings and solutions tailored to customer needs.
Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for tracking financial aspects of sales and projects.
The job profile may be subject to occasional alternative duties, assignments, and projects as required by the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Take full accountability for managing sales and contracts, ensuring they align with the company's and personal budget and growth objectives, as well as meeting client needs.
Identify, develop, and evaluate new business opportunities, both at existing and new accounts, strategically converting them into profitable sales to expand SA's market share.
Promote sales for our brands and companies within the group, showcasing their unique value propositions.
Conduct comprehensive research on assigned sales projects, gathering relevant information to support effective decision-making.
Source, generate, and diligently follow up on business leads and opportunities, nurturing relationships with existing and potential customers.
Contribute to the management of designated accounts, maintaining accurate documentation, handling financial transactions when necessary, and addressing customer complaints to deliver exceptional customer service.
Respond promptly and proactively to customer inquiries, aiming to convert them into successful business transactions.
Collaborate closely with peers and management, working collectively to achieve personal and company sales targets and performance metrics.
Actively participate in conferences, trade shows, and industry seminars, in coordination with the marketing department, to foster and strengthen client relationships and enhance the company's brand recognition and market position.
Support marketing efforts and take responsibility for sales related to all of SA's activities.
Provide relevant information to the marketing department for events requiring media coverage.
Attend to, respond, and follow up on all inquiries received through social media channels.
Prepare and submit timely and accurate Monthly Activity Reports, adhering to company standards, to assess progress against established plans and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Develop a deep understanding of the company's products, ensuring accurate and compelling information is communicated to our customers.
Contribute sales information and recommendations, sharing insights and ideas to enhance the effectiveness of sales strategies and tactics.
Identify market trends and propose improvements for geographical sales performance.
Provide forecast and feedback reports on products and services.
Actively participate in company sales meetings, contributing insights, updates, and collaborative solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
A diploma or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (advantageous).
A minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience, including a track record of developing new business.
Possess extensive knowledge of the aviation industry.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
Proven sales experience or other relevant experience including ability to develop new business.
Great understanding of local & foreign, sub-Sahara Africa.
Aviation consumables, parts and support services.
Exhibit the ability to initiate, nurture, and successfully close high-value sales transactions.
Display exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills, allowing for credible and effective engagement at all organizational levels.
Showcase experience in delivering client-focused solutions that align with customer needs.
