An electronic components business with a national footprint in South Africa is seeking to employ a Technical Sales Engineer on a permanent basis at their Cape Town office.
Technical electronic components experience and knowledge, plus a background in Sales or Account Management in the relevant field is an absolute must.
Responsibilities Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with existing and new customers in the electronic engineering and manufacturing industry.Make appointments for daily visits to current and prospective customers to maintain and generate new business.Assist design engineers in selecting suitable parts for new designs.Identify and offer replacement parts for existing designs to engineers and buyers.Research sources and analyze the market for developing new potential customers.Organize and plan a personal sales strategy to maximize return and time investment.Achieve growth and account penetration by effectively marketing all product lines.Manage accurate forecasts and achieve targets.Report to management as to customer potential, prospects, new products, competitive activities, requirements, etc.Experience, Qualifications and Skills A degree or suitable technical qualification in Electronic Engineering (Light Current).Technical electronic design or implementation experience.Sales and or Account Management experience in the field.Fully computer literate, MS Office including Excel.Good attention to detail and the ability to complete projects.An aptitude for sales.Good communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.Valid driver's license.Salary: Basic salary of R20,000 to R40,000 / month, plus commission earnings. The basic will depend on skills and experience in this field.
